Christmas Movie Nails

When I decided to do this 12 days of Christmas nail art thing, I knew right away that I wanted to do one design based on a Christmas movie. The thing is, there are SOOOO many Christmas movies out there! You've got your Christmas Classics like It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, and A Christmas Story. There are those awesome old Christmas claymations like A Year Without Santa Clause, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Santa Clause is Coming to Town. But then you've got those newer movies that become instant classics.

It didn't take me long to chose a movie. Can you tell what it is? I'll give you a hint...

Christmas Sweater Nails

I have this terrible habit of waiting until late to start doing my nails. And since I can never decide what I want to do with them, it takes me quite some time to get done. There's no reason for me posting these so late other than just that. I didn't sit down to do them until after 10 and you know the rest.

For today's Christmas design, I chose some Fair Isle style images from my favorite holiday Born Pretty stamping plate.

We're just days away from Christmas which means that I'm just days away from seeing my family. Almost as excitingly I get to see their faces when they open their gifts. Usually, I have to send my gift to them and I miss them being opened. Last year, I made them video tape it and send it to us. Seeing it in person will be so much better. I love giving gifts and I love seeing people's reactions. It's my favorite thing about Christmas and birthdays. \

Anyway, on to today's Christmas nail art. I wanted to do some marbling so I thought I would try out a drip marble.

Christmas Glitter Gradient

This design is going up extremely late but I had a busy day of errands and visiting with my mother-in-law. I didn't get home until midnight and, because I am the world's most indecisive person, I didn't get done with my nails until 1:30am. Not because it was a difficult or time-consuming. It definitely wasn't. I just went through three other design ideas before I settled on this one.

Fuzzy Christmas French Manicure

As of yesterday, I am officially on vacation from work for the rest of the year. I'm excited to take it easy for a couple of weeks. In a week, my family is coming to visit from Tennessee and I couldn't be more excited. I don't get to see them often so I can't wait to spend Christmas with them.

For today's Christmas design, I was going to do the typical Santa manicure but wanted to do something simpler.

For my third Christmas nail art design I wanted to do something a little more abstract. I chose to create a Christmas colored smoosh design. They're quick, easy, and they look really cool.

Candy Canes & Holly

Day 2 of my 12 days of Christmas nail art is here. I asked hubby what Christmas design I should do today and he replied with candy canes and holly. Easy enough!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

It's Christmas morning and I'm hanging out at the in-laws' and I thought I would do a quick post with some amazingly sparkly Christmas nails. I did this and couldn't stop staring at my hands because the shine and sparkle was so hypnotizing! The best part was, it was super simple and it only took a few minutes!

Christmas Water Marble

I love doing a water marble design around Christmas time because it always reminds me of Christmas candies. Instead of doing a red and white "candy cane" water marble, I used green and white! 

Textured Christmas Nails

I don't have a whole lot of textured nail polishes (maybe seven or eight) but I love them so much. I forget about them for a while here and there but eventually I remember and then all I want to do is wear textured polish for days. I knew I wanted to do at least one textured Christmas manicure and, when I decided what to do, I knew exactly which color I wanted to use. 

Festive Striped French

It's almost here; are you excited? I'm not as into Christmas as a lot of people are but there are some things I love about it. One thing the gift-giving. I don't care so much about receiving them but I love giving them. Mostly because I think I'm great at it. I don't ask people what they want for Christmas. I like to find that perfect gift all on my own and I DO NOT give gift cards. I'm especially excited about the gifts I got my friends and family this year. I think I've really nailed it. I also LOVE wrapping presents. 

Today's Christmas design is something simple and sparkly and it reminds me of pretty Christmas wrapping.

Today's design is a little something for those who aren't necessarily fans of the holiday season. Not everyone likes this time of year weather it be Christmas itself, or the cheer, or the decorations, or what have you. Glitter Christmas Tree

I've decided to finally start with the Christmas nail art. I didn't want to start too early because I'm one of those people who gets burned out on Christmas pretty quickly. It's most people's favorite holiday, I know, but not mine. Give me Halloween, anytime! But, I love being festive, no matter what the holiday, so I have to do SOME Christmas nail art...

I wanted to start simple and do something fairly minimalist. What I came up with was very easy and took maybe ten minutes to complete!

Christmas Post #10 - Dry Marble Tree

Sometimes, the best nail art designs are the simplest ones. Of course, I still need them sparkly but there's something nice about a simple design. With everything that was going on in my last Christmas post, I thought I would do something simple this time around.

Christmas Post #9 - Matte & Glitter

 I've been loving the combination of glitter and matte top coats these days so I wanted to do a Christmas design based on that. I picked my favorite Christmas-y polishes and went to town!


Also, I'm playing around with hand posing and photography a bit. So, for the next week or so, my photos might be all over the place. Sorry!

Christmas Post #7 - Candy Canes

Who doesn't love candy canes? Well, I'm sure some people don't. Anyone who doesn't like peppermint, perhaps. But I love them. They're such a fun candy. I especially love the fruity candy canes. But the classic red and white stripes of a peppermint candy cane are what I love. With my love of patterns, and all. 

So, translating candy canes to nail art is one of my favorite Christmas designs. It's super cute, super festive, and (best of all) SUPER easy!
