Rainbow Water Marble

Every once in a while, I just have to do a water marble. I'm one of those odd people who loves to water marble. As the years have gone by I've found them to be easier and easier to do. I used to get frustrated with the process but a few things have really helped.

Christmas Smoosh

For my third Christmas nail art design I wanted to do something a little more abstract. I chose to create a Christmas colored smoosh design. They're quick, easy, and they look really cool.

Christmas Dotticure

I've decided that this year that I would do 12 days of Christmas nail art designs. I know everyone does Christmas designs throughout December but a month of it is too much for me. 12 days seems like plenty, right?

Flakies, Gradients, & Holo

Have you ever started doing your nails and you can't stop just adding more and more until you realize that you may have gone overboard? Yeah, I tend to do that. A lot. You know what, though? Sometimes more is more. Right?

Musical Pond Mani

I was playing around with my OPI ColorPaints and decided to do a pond manicure. I wanted to experiment a little, though, and see how well it would work with stamped images. It turns out that it works quite well.

Halloween Gradient & Sparkly Web

10 days to go! Has everyone decided what they're going to be for Halloween? As of right now, Hubby and I still don't have any plans so it doesn't look like we'll be dressing up this year. That's okay, though, because my nails can be dressed up every day!

31DC2016 Day 20 - Water Marble

I have never, ever, EVER struggled to water marble like I did today. I love water marbling and I usually have no problems doing it but today was another story. It put me in such a bad mood so this will be a pretty short post.

The base is Sally Hansen Celeb City. I marbled with OPI Color Paints in Turquoise Aesthetic, Pen and Pink, and Purple Perspective. I topped it with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

31DC2016 Day 9 - Rainbow Nails

For today's prompt, my initial instinct was to do a water marble. But, since water marble is an actual prompt in the challenge, I decided against it. Then, I thought about doing something with polka dots, but that's a prompt too. After a few more ideas that I rejected I finally came up with something.

31DC2016 Day 2 - Orange Nails

Day two is orange nails day and I'm excited. Orange is my favorite color and, for some reason, I don't use it on my nails all that much. I have several orange polishes but I just don't reach for them that often.

For the prompt, I tried to do something that I haven't done in a while. Color blocking popped into my mind so I went with that.

31DC2016 Day 1 - Red Nails

It's September! It's really September?! This 31 Day Challenge seriously snuck up on me. I'm glad it's here. I've been needing some inspiration and motivation.

A lot of people in the nail art community take part in the challenge in September. That's when I choose to do it and this will be my fourth challenge. Sarah at Chalkboard Nails created some gorgeous graphics to go along with the challenge.

Negative Space Marble

Every once in a while I get in the mood for a very soft-looking manicure. But I'm usually also in the mood for something super quick and super easy because I'm SUPER lazy. This time around, I opted for some cling wrap marble in some very soft colors. I wanted something kinda opalescent.

Glittery Water Marble

It's been no secret that I am head-over-heels in love with OPI ColorPaints. I use them constantly; they are my favorite for gradients and absolutely the best to marble with. I really hope that OPI releases more colors in this range. I'd snatch them up in a heartbeat.

I've really been digging water marbles lately so I thought I'd do some over a good glitter base.

Pink & Purple Water Marble

A lot of people hate water marbling. A lot. I follow several nail art blogs and watch a lot of nail art videos and a fairly common theme is that water marbling sucks. I just don't feel that way. I think it's just one of those things that take some practice to perfect. Any nail art can be frustrating. It's all about learning the tips, tricks, products, and tools that work for you.

Personally, I think I'm pretty good at water marbling and I enjoy it quite a bit. I usually have far more successes than failures. It's definitely one of my favorite nail art techniques to do.

Well, that was all just to tell you that I did a water marble design. Ha ha!

Negative Space Polka Dots

Is this really my first post of 2016?! On the 26th?! Time is a precious commodity, isn't it?? Anyway, let's move on to the nail art, shall we?

Colorful Fall Splatter

There's so much snow outside! Well, it's only about a foot or so but I LOVE IT! So many people around here hate the snow but I turn into a giddy child when it snows. This is the first snowfall (other than a couple of early morning flurries) of the season and it's a good one!

Moving on to the nails, I've been leaning more toward darker, warmer colors for this time of year but now and then I still want something colorful. That's the case with these nails. For this design, hubby actually chose the splatter technique for me. I picked out some colors and went to town.

Candy Corn Gradient

Happy Halloween! It's my favorite holiday of the year! I don't know exactly what it is about Halloween that I love so much. Maybe the amazing costumes? The spookiness? Who knows? Today's mani is inspired by probably the most iconic Halloween candy; candy corn!

Jack-o-lantern Cuties

One of my all-time favorite nail art designs that I've posted was my Halloween Ghosts design from last year. It was just adorable and I enjoyed wearing it so much. Today, I seriously considered recreating that design but chose, instead, to do something similar but with Jack-o-lanterns!

Fall Drag Marble

I've had the OPI Color Paints for a few weeks now but I still can't stop playing with them. There seem to be endless possibilities for these babies! Considering how well they water marble, I thought maybe they would drag marble just as well. And I was right!
