Color Blocked Gradient

Have you ever gotten to that point in the week when you just feel completely exhausted and you're beyond ready for the weekend? Have you ever gotten to that point on a Tuesday? Maybe it's just because my weekend was so amazing or maybe this week really is just the worst but it's been a rough couple of days and I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

But there's nothing quite like some relaxing nail art to really take your mind off of things. 

31DC2016 Day 2 - Orange Nails

Day two is orange nails day and I'm excited. Orange is my favorite color and, for some reason, I don't use it on my nails all that much. I have several orange polishes but I just don't reach for them that often.

For the prompt, I tried to do something that I haven't done in a while. Color blocking popped into my mind so I went with that.

Spring Color Block

Even though we woke up to a bunch of wet snow this morning, here in Michigan, I'm still in a Springy kind of mood. Fall is my favorite season with Winter as a close second but I still love Spring and Summer, too. I love colors and the brighter the better, in my opinion. I think that's why I love Spring and Summer; the colors!

I wanted to do some Spring colored nail art with a geometric feel. A color blocked design was an easy decision to come to!

Textured Color Block

As some may notice, I've changed the look of my blog a bit. I wanted a fresh and simpler look. I'm using this revamp as a nudge back into regular blogging. I've been pretty bad about keeping up with my blog but, to be honest, I just haven't been doing my nails as much as I used to. With work, the puppy, and personal stuff, I just haven't been able to do them on a daily basis. This, unfortunately, means that I've also been neglecting my nails a bit, too. I just wasn't caring for them like I should have so they aren't in the best shape.

Well, no more of that! Back to pretty pretty nails and blogging and babying my nails! Now, on to the manicure!

Color Blocked French

I got a polish from Julep the other day that I was not sure about.It's called Kennedy. In the bottle, it looks like a dusty yellowish-beige. Hubby and I couldn't tell what kind of color it was supposed to be. I looked it up and Julep calls it a khaki cream. I didn't like it. Then, the other day, I decided to give it a try. I didn't want to commit to it, though, so I thought I'd use it as an accent color in a design.

Fancy a drink, anyone?

I wanted to get a few new Essie nail polishes today so I went to Ulta. I was looking through the Essies and immediately one color caught my eye. Mojito Madness! This is one of the most gorgeous shades of green I've ever seen! It's the perfect compromise between a pastel and a neon. The other color I picked up is Splash of Grenadine. It's a pretty dusty pinkish/purplish shade.I love that they both have names related to drinks. Both of these colors are unlike any other in my collection so I wanted to use them both immediately!

Other than Mojito Madness and Splash of Grenadine, I used NYC French White Tip. I love the polka dot nails, even though they look like Easter eggs. My favorite, though, is the color blocking on my thumb. I did that last and now I wish I had done a whole color blocking manicure. Another time, maybe.
