Opening Day

Well known fact: Hubby and I are HUGE baseball fans. As a matter of fact, most of Michigan (especially here in the Detroit Metro area) loves baseball. Most of us really believe that Opening Day should be a national holiday. Seriously, it's one of the most exciting days of the year, for us.

To commemorate Opening Day 2014, of course I had to do a baseball inspired manicure!

Stripes and Flowers

It's finally starting to feel like spring! The sun was shining and I got to spend some time outside without shivering! Woo hoo! Don't get me wrong; I love winter. I love snow. I love cold weather but even I need a break.

When I was brainstorming nail ideas, hubby suggested something springy since the weather has been so nice.

Spring is here?

It has officially been spring for a few days now. We aren't feeling it in Michigan, though. There is still snow on the ground and it was below freezing all day today. Regardless, the arrival of spring means that warmer weather is on its way. And, with a near record breaking winter here, most people are anxiously awaiting it.

To celebrate the official arrival of spring, I decided to do something floral and springy with my nails.

My Absence

It's been over a week since my last post! I have good reasons, though. My nails have taken a back seat to the newest love of my life.

This is Oswin! Isn't that just the sweetest face?! Ugh, he's too precious! He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and he is just a ball of energy. Being only 8 weeks old, he takes up almost all of my spare time. He's so worth it, though!

I wanted to do something puppy related with my nails and remembered that I had some puppy themed nail decals in my stash. I found them at Five Below and have had them for months.

The base color is Pure Ice Alter Ego. Aren't those decals adorable? I love them. The best part was that this only took a few minutes (with Seche Vite speeding things up) so I could squeeze it in while Oswin napped!

A Glimmer of Spring

Yesterday, us Michiganders had a gorgeous day. It was warm (to us) and sunny. Everyone was riding around with their windows down, myself included, and in t-shirts and sunglasses. Yes, there may still be several feet of snow on the ground but it was good enough for us. Now, it's cooling down and they're calling for six inches of snow. Nature likes to play with our emotions.

To immortalize our beautiful day and to invite the real Spring to come soon, I did a little neon floral nail art!

What a week!

This last week has been...something else. Honestly, it's been pretty rough. I had an allergic reaction last weekend to an unknown something. Then, at work I had a reaction to a chemical at work. I also had some car trouble that ended in unexpected expenses. I burned my left thumb at work. It wasn't the WORST burn I could have gotten. Just a minor second degree burn...ON MY CUTICLE! It's hideous. Luckily, it's just out of sight in my photos. Lastly, I had a major break which meant that I had to chop all of my nails down. :/

Today's mani is something quick and simple that I had to throw together out of necessity. Basically, my nails were naked and I was pressed for time. Ha ha!

Mardi Gras

Although Mardi Gras isn't until Tuesday, I thought I'd post my Mardi Gras nail art today, instead. Living in Michigan, Mardi Gras isn't nearly as big a deal as it is down south. I still love it, though. Honestly, I mostly love the colors. Ha ha. There's something about Mardi Gras colors that just says party!

I spent quite some time deciding what design to do and couldn't settle on just one. So, I threw a bunch together into one fun and festive manicure!
