A long time ago, I ordered a mystery grab bag type thing from the Born Pretty Store and it was full of water decals and stickers. One set was just a random mish-mosh of flowers, bows, and KITTIES! I thought it was the cutest and since I was feeling a tad lazy today, I decided to use those for today's design.

31DC2016 Day 15 - Flowers
I didn't notice until today that I messed up the prompts. Today's prompt is actually delicate print but I mistakenly did that one yesterday. Yesterday's prompt was supposed to be flowers so I'm doing that one today instead.

31DC2015 Day 14 - Flowers
I played around with a lot of different types of flower designs for today's prompt. I've been yearning for fall inspired nail art as of late but flowers make me think of spring. So I went full on spring with this one! :)

Simple Dot Floral
I stopped by Sally Beauty Supply today because they were having a BOGO sale on their nail polish and, frankly, I wanted to load up. I told myself that I was only getting six but then I found the clearance nail polishes and snatched up two more. Hubby came with and picked out a few of the colors for me.
One of the new colors I got (which Hubby loves) is China Glaze But of Corpse. He wanted me to use it right away; I wanted to do something floral.

31dc2014 Day 14 - Flowers
Since I used my favorite animal as inspiration for yesterday's post, I thought it appropriate to use my favorite flower for today's. I love lilies; specifically Tiger Lilies. I also love Stargazer Lilies. But I've seen so many lily nail art designs out there, I decided to find another kind of flower. I browsed a flower glossary website for a while and, as you can imagine, there were TONS of flowers to choose from. I was looking at all of the gorgeous, intricate flowers when suddenly...
...THIS beauty jumped out at me! Instantly, I knew this was the one. It's such a simple bloom. But that, in combination with the gorgeous foliage, was what drew me in. It's called Purple Shamrock!

31dc2014 Day 3 - yellow
Fun fact: THIS IS MY 300th POST!!!!!! Wahoo!!!
Not so fun fact: I had a nasty break today so I'm down to suuuuper shorties.
So, I went into this day of the challenge knowing exactly what I wanted to do. I had this whole plan laid down and my tools set out and my colors chosen. Yeah, I didn't do any of it. Initially, I was going to do a Spongebob Squarepants inspired manicure. Bright yellow nails with green spots and Spongebob's face as an accent. At the last minute, I decided to use a lighter shade of yellow. I slapped that on and thought, "I've already done Spongebob nail art. Maybe I should do something different." In the end I decided to just go simple and pretty.

Micro Bead Flowers
A while back, I bought one of the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Kits. I got the bead kit that came with three tubes of micro beads; one tube of teal, one tube of pink, and one tube of multi-colored. I have had that kit for several months and never used it. I eyed them today and HAD to do something with them. Unfortunately, I was in the mood for something minimal. I came up with the perfect compromise, though!

Bright & Springy
I felt extra girly today. I took a little extra time on my makeup, left my hair a little curly and wore a big flower in it, and wore my flirtiest earrings (which perfectly matched the cute turquoise top I wore). So, when it came time to do my nails, I wanted something just as girly. And since it's an absolutely GORGEOUS day, I wanted something floral. As it just so happens, I picked up a pack of nail art decals the other day at the grocery store and one of the designs in it were the perfect flowers for what I had in mind.

Stripes and Flowers
It's finally starting to feel like spring! The sun was shining and I got to spend some time outside without shivering! Woo hoo! Don't get me wrong; I love winter. I love snow. I love cold weather but even I need a break.
When I was brainstorming nail ideas, hubby suggested something springy since the weather has been so nice.

Spring is here?
It has officially been spring for a few days now. We aren't feeling it in Michigan, though. There is still snow on the ground and it was below freezing all day today. Regardless, the arrival of spring means that warmer weather is on its way. And, with a near record breaking winter here, most people are anxiously awaiting it.
To celebrate the official arrival of spring, I decided to do something floral and springy with my nails.

A Glimmer of Spring
Yesterday, us Michiganders had a gorgeous day. It was warm (to us) and sunny. Everyone was riding around with their windows down, myself included, and in t-shirts and sunglasses. Yes, there may still be several feet of snow on the ground but it was good enough for us. Now, it's cooling down and they're calling for six inches of snow. Nature likes to play with our emotions.
To immortalize our beautiful day and to invite the real Spring to come soon, I did a little neon floral nail art!

Simply Pretty
I have had a wonderful week and it ended on a very happy note. So, I decided to make my nails just as bright and cheerful. Unfortunately, I was also feeling a little lazy. I ended up doing something very simple and bright.

31DC2013 Day 26 - Inspired by a pattern
I was so tempted to do a polka dot manicure today since that's my favorite pattern. I decided, instead to use a pattern that I found on Google.

31DC2013 Day 14 - Flowers
For today, I wanted to try something I've never done before. Since flowers is the challenge prompt, I thought I'd give one stroke flowers a shot.

Movies and Manicures
It had been a few weeks since the girls could both come over for movies and manicures. Schedule clashes, ya know? We would usually get together on last night but Hubby and I got tickets to a baseball game. So, the ladies came over today, instead!
Trisha wanted polka dots and I was more than happy to oblige. I do love my dotting tools! I also suggested a few accent flowers and she was totally on board. This was the end result!

She chose Wet n Wild Private Viewing as the base color with NYC Highline Green for the dots. The flowers are done in NYC French White Tip and Art Club Purple Rain. Pretty springy dots!
Heather was very specific; she wanted a pink and blue gradient. I was ready, sponge in hand!
We used Essie Bikini So Teeny and ORLY Fancy Fuchsia. Don't her nails match the sky nicely?
I went the pastel route, as well. I started with a pastel skittles manicure, and then I jazzed it up a bit. :)
Adorable, right? I used (from pinky to thumb) Wet n Wild Candy-licious, Essie Bikini So Teeny, Julep Blake, ORLY Jealous, Much?, and Butter London Trout Pout. I topped all of them with Julep Camille and then added cute, goofy little monster faces with Art Club Black and White. I love these sparkly, pastel monsters!!!

Springy Goodness
What do you guys think of the new look? I wanted something a little sharper and cleaner looking. On to today's manicure...
Today was an absolutely GORGEOUS day here in Michigan. The sky was clear and the sun was out. It only hit 60 degrees out but that was better than the snow flurries we got yesterday. It was so lovely out, that it inspired some spring themed nails. I even got to take the pictures outside!
Are these precious or what? I had so much fun doing these! The background is a gradient using Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and Funky Fingers Cyclone Sky. For the grass and the flower stems/leaves, I used a small paintbrush and NYC High Line Green. The flowers are done with a dotting tool, OPI Planks a Lot, NYC Times Square Tangerine Creme, ORLY Fancy Fuchsia, and Julep Blake (for the middles).
I love being inspired by the weather and Mother Nature. There are so many possibilities!
