Shredded

I love using tape to make manicures. It's cheap, it's easy, and I keep finding new things to do with it. Recently, hubby offered his hobby knife set for my nail art use. I found out that it works great for making nail art stencils!

The base for this is ORLY Fancy Fuchsia. I cut a piece of tape (for each nail) in a shredded pattern using the hobby knife. I placed the tape on my nails and painted over it with Ulta Envy. I immediately removed the tape to avoid the polish getting stringy and ruining the shredded design.

Because the blade on the hobby knife is so slender and sharp, it's very easy to get crisp lines and fine details. I'm already thinking of fun things to make with it! Jack-o-lantern nails, anyone?
